Zdeněk Trs pracuje s tajemstvím, objekty svých maleb zakrývá jemnou látkou, která paradoxně zakryté předměty zvýrazňuje, zdůrazňuje podstatné a irelevantní odstraňuje. Zároveň tím poskytuje divákovi široký prostor pro jeho představivost a fantazii. Trsovy obrazy jsou minimalistické, ale zároveň provokují svoji sofistikovaností a vytříbeným malířským podáním. Dalším výrazným elementem Trsových prací je mistrně zvládnutá kompozice, která jeho obrazům dodává zvláštní přesah zasahující do sféry něčeho onirického, pozorovatel Trsových obrazů má pocit, že ostrý záblesk světla může Trsovy práce proměnit v prach. V souvislosti s Trsovou malbou lze hovořit o pareidolii (tak Trs nazval cyklus svých obrazů z roku 2011), psychologickém fenoménu, kdy si člověk fantazijně dotváří nekonkrétní a neurčité podněty jako např. mraky či plísně na stěnách, ve kterých vidí konkrétní tvary, tváře, zvířata atp.

Trs's paintings are minimalistic, but at the same time they provoke with their sophistication and the painter's cultivated presentation. Another significant element of Trs's works is masterfully executed composition, which gives his paintings a special overlap trespassing into a sphere of something dreamy. The viewer of Trs's paintings has the feeling that the sharp flash of light can turn Trs's works into dust. Related to Trs's painting we can talk about pareidolia (that's how Trs named the series of his paintings from 2011), a psychological phenomenon when man puts the finishing touches to vague and uncertain ideas such as for example clouds or mould on the walls, in which he sees certain shapes, faces, animals etc.
