Marek Slavík is a painter, whose work is very diverse in its content, he often creates closed series of paintings, which are seemingly not related together, however the connecting element of his paintings are an excellent painting technique and clean colorfulness. Slavík proceeds in his works in closed series of paintings for which a deep dive into the researched problem is characteristic. The thought spectrum of Slavík's paintings is monumental, he deals with topics such as the beginning of the universe and beginning of life, apocalypse caused by chemical weapons, prehistoric landscapes but he also doesn't hesitate to dive into filthier topics, such as for example the series of young half-naked girls playing in foam or on the contrary into socially critical positions represented by the series Pigparade, in which he beats bad habits of contemporary society – fight on the “feedtank” or laing about on welfare. Exhibited series of Slavík's paintings are not superficial though, there are more possibilities of interpretation and that supports and guarantees that Slavík's paintings must be reviewed and observed again and again. Slavík dedicates a big space in his artworks to the research of the human body and its possibilities of expression, Slavík likes capturing of different emotionally tense situations – see paitings “Reconciliation”, “Invidious, invidious”, “Conscience” or “Reflexion of human reality”. Counterpart to this studies of ethology Homo sapiens sapiens are Slavík´s painter's cosmogenic reflection, especially in the series “Abstraction – beginning of the universe and beginning of life” and ”Overlapping of worlds”, in which he self-confidently gets along to abstract positions, in which he 'tunes' powerful cosmic forces that have formed the form of our contemporary being on planet Earth.
